FOOTBALL FOR ALL SPORT AND BUSINESS MASTERCLASS
Young people from North Belfast attending a local summer scheme at Girls Model High School this week were treated to an innovative Sport and Business Master class featuring the IFA Football For All campaign.
The event held a series of workshops looking at the importance of good relations in sport and encouraged the young participants to develop a local based sports activity that they could organise to benefit other young people within their community.
Ciara Brennan from UNLTD assisted during the delivery of the programme and informed the young people of an exciting funding opportunity that could help them make these plans a reality. "Unltd is a charitable organisation that seeks to encourage social entrepreneurial activity. We have supported 22 young people to date with funding to make a difference to their communities. It's great to be here today to listen to the many innovative ideas these young people have generated and I would be hopeful their ideas can be made real with advice, mentoring and financial assistance".
Colleen Macauley, IFA Community Relations Officer added, "This event was very different to normal summer scheme activities and the young people involved were keen and interested and fully endorsed the ethos of Football For All. They designed some brilliant posters reflecting the campaign and were an absolute delight to work with. I really hope that they will continue as ambassadors for Football For All".
