Main Activities & Yearly Overview
FOOTBALL FOR ALL – MAIN ACTIVITIES
The Football For All Campaign focuses on 3 main areas of work:
- Continued partnership work with the Amalgamation of Official Northern Ireland Supporters Clubs. This work highlights the positive steps taken to address sectarianism within International Football and has produced a educational DVD production demonstrating the difficult but invaluable journey made by supporters to make NI football accessible and welcoming to everyone in NI.
- World United is an intercultural football initiative to provide a welcoming, safe and secure environment for people from black and minority ethnic backgrounds to play football on a cross community basis with persons from NI. This programme has extended and is now run by a management committee who hope to promote playing opportunities across NI.
- Domestic football is a primary focus of work for the Football For All programme as they seek to remove barriers to inclusion, promote mutual respect and reconciliation at a local level. Football For All has always recognised the contribution made in local football by volunteers and holds a prestigious awards ceremony annually to reward and acknowledge the involvement of these local heroes. Over the next few years the campaign will enhance the experience of volunteers through an innovative empowerment programme.
