IFA WHEELCHAIR FOOTBALL CLUB
By Richard McMeekin
Wheelchair football can be described as fast-paced, exhausting and tactical. With the success of wheelchair basketball and the continued growth of the sport, wheelchair football offers the same excitement in a game loved by so many in Great Britain and Ireland.
A new Irish FA Wheelchair Football Club has recently started up in the indoor hall at the Valley Leisure Centre in Newtownabbey. Manual chair users play on a Friday from 7.30pm-9pm and powered chair users play on a Saturday from 3pm–4.30pm. All sessions are coached by IFA/UEFA B Licensed coaches.
The football club is free to attend and anyone aged seven years and over (male and female) is welcome to come along and participate in the sessions which involve skill development, mobility, team play and small sided games. If you are interested in finding out more about the new club or you would like to register, please contact Alan Crooks: acrooks@irishfa.com or telephone 028 90 669 458.
