Release Date: 06/09/2010

BALLYMENA United is pleased to announce that following the club’s successful summer campaign to increase attendances – season ticket sales have risen by over 20% this season, compared to the previous year.

United’s loyal supporters have backed the initiative and raised just under £20,000 through the sales of season tickets, breaking records from the last ten years in revenue and tickets sold; including a 21.2% increase on the 2009/2010 season.

A season of new optimism has swept the Showgrounds with Roy Walker’s ‘back to basics’ approach of local players with local pride and it has brought a buzz to the town with early home attendances having been very encouraging along with performances on the pitch.

Company Secretary Neil Coleman has been pleased with the response; “It really shows the loyalty of the Ballymena United supporters and we are over the moon with the uptake in Season Tickets.

“We want to offer our supporters the best possible value for their money, as it can be forgotten how big a financial commitment it can be. Our fans deserve some benefit to their loyalty that goes beyond performances on the pitch and we have been working hard alongside the marketing team at the IFA, amongst others, to come up with incentives for season ticket holders.”

It has also been through the internet that the Sky Blues have opened up markets, selling season tickets online this season for the first time proved successful and was very user friendly, whilst supporters have also been steadily buying the new range of Umbro replica kits and training wear through the club’s official online shop.

The club has also launched itself on popular social networking site Twitter; and fans can follow live match updates and streaming news from the club at twitter.com/ballymenaunited. Through Ballymena United’s many online outlets like the website, social networking and video highlights there are thousands of people from all over the world following the club’s fortunes to a level never seen before.
