REDEVELOPED DIXON PARK OFFICIALLY OPENS

Ballyclare Comrades FC officially opened their new and improved facilities at Dixon Park last week.

IFA Honorary Life President Jim Boyce officially opened the new facilities which include a new seated stand and improved spectator standing accommodation, a control room and new spectator toilet facilities.

The Club was successful in securing £230,000 from the Soccer Strategy Facilities Programme through the IFA and Sport NI and additional partnership funding was secured from Newtownabbey Borough Council.

Club Chairman, Trevor McCann welcomed everyone to the official opening and wished to thank the partners in this project - Sport Northern Ireland, the Irish Football Association and Newtownabbey Borough Council.

"Working on this project has been a long process over the past two years, involving our committee and members of the Supporters' Club, but the results have been worth all the effort," said Club Chairman, Trevor McCann. “We would like to thank all those who have helped us to secure this funding and complete this project.  This really is a fantastic achievement for the club.”

Speaking at the event, the Mayor of Newtownabbey, Alderman Paula Bradley also wished to congratulate the club on the completion of this project.
