Release Date: 21/07/2010
Interested in becoming an official IFA Match Observer? The Irish Football Association is seeking to recruit an additional number of volunteer match observers for the 2010/11 Carling Premiership season.
The primary objective is to provide independent scrutiny of matches to ensure minimum standards are being maintained in regards to the overall match day administration.
Particular attention is paid to:
• Stadium safety and security
• Spectator behaviour
• Compliance with domestic licensing requirements
• Promotion of good community relations
• Marketing and advertising arrangements
The process, agreed with Premiership clubs and approved by the IFA, is based on `observation and reporting’ only, with no additional authority given to the observer.
A handbook of guidance will be provided and regular seminars and training courses will be held to support both the observer and the nominated club liaison officer.
Given the volunteer nature of this role, re-imbursement is limited to mileage only and access to private transport would be a pre-requisite for this role. Access to e-mail would also be essential as this will be the means of communication.
If you wish to record an expression of interest or require any further information please contact Darren Veighey, Irish Football Association at 028 9066 9458 or dveighey@irishfa.com not later than 26 July 2010.
We will be hosting an induction seminar on Saturday 31 July 2010 in advance of the new season which kicks off on Saturday 7 August 2010.
