Sport Matters – Capital and Equipment

Sport NI is awaiting approval from DCAL to launch a new funding programme which is due to open in July 2010.

Funding up to a maximum of £30,000 is available to clubs to undertake capital and equipment projects.  100% funding is available, however the total cost of any proposed project can not exceed £30,000.

Only applicants which can clearly demonstrate a project which is achievable by 31 March 2011 can be considered as potential applicants.

All applicants must demonstrate a need for the project and identify how the proposed project will increase participation as a result. Types of eligible projects may include synthetic surfaces and dressing room accommodations. 

The core objectives of this programme are participation, need and delivery timeframe and applicants must be able to confirm/provide the following:

1. Solvency (a positive balance sheet)
2. Security of tenure of at least 5 years
3. Facility need
4. Increased participation from key user groups such as under-represented groups, coaches and volunteers
