  • Safeguarding the continuity of International Competitions for one season.
  • Monitoring the financial fair play in those Competitions.
  • Assuring that Clubs have adequate levels of management and organisation.

DOMESTIC CLUB LICENSINGIrish FA logo

The Irish Football Association is pleased to have revised the Domestic club licensing scheme for all clubs wishing to participate in the top division of Irish league football in season 2010/11.

In keeping with UEFA principles and procedures the IFA Executive Committee in May 2007 asked the Club Licensing Committee to consider what the requirements and processes required for the implementation of such a licensing scheme should be.

After lengthy and detailed consideration and after consultation with the IPL Committee the Club Licensing Committee set the core process and requirements and this was subsequently approved by the IFA Executive Committee in March 2007.

Clubs have to make submissions in respect of their application to satisfy all of the requirements but most notably in fields such as development teams, child protection, anti racism/sectarianism, infrastructure, coaching qualifications, safety certifications, audited accounts and information relating to payments due to employees or other football clubs.

As with UEFA club licensing the Club Licensing Committee will clarify, direct and make a determination as to the award of licences.
