Sport NI Stadia Safety Programme

This programme is managed entirely by SNI and is open only to the 16 IPL clubs, Ulsterrugby (at Ravenhill) and the six GAA county grounds.

The Red Football PitchThe available funding in this programme is £800k (85% of total project costs). The IFA have made a commitment to support 10% of total project costs for each successful IPL applicant via the HatTrick Investment Programme. To date there have been 9 successful applications from football clubs.

In the first phase of the project Ballymena United FC, Cliftonville FC and Portadown FC had projects approved.

Ballymena United FCcompleted their control tower improvements in April 2007 and the other more sizeable projects for spectator accommodations at Cliftonville FC and Portadown FC were completed in October 2008. Football Project

Both Crusaders FC and Donegal Celtic FC were successful in securing funding from phase II of the programme and the Association will also support these projects which are anticipated to commence in the forthcoming months.

Applications for Phase III of the project opened in June 2007 and four projects (Glenavon FC, Newry City FC, Institute FC and Ballymena Utd FC) were successful in the first stage of assessment.The Association will continue to assist these projects with HatTrick funding. 

Eligible costs within this programme are spectator accommodation (stands), sanitary facilities and access/egress equipment (turnstiles, CCTV and control point etc).
